Cor thinks of a seal, but then sees a face in the sea: ‘Damn, I saved a human life’

With a fishing rod in hand and his gaze focused on the sea, the Hague angler Cor Taal stood unsuspecting on the beach of Kijkduin. Early in the afternoon he sees something floating that gives his peaceful fishing morning a different twist. “I took a picture and zoomed in. Then I thought: yes, at least it is not a seal.”
