Copper thieves have fire established on Sunday night in a sewer station in Veldhoven. The thieves managed to get electricity cables in this way. The expected damage runs in the tons.
According to the water board, the value of the amount of stolen copper ‘does not outweigh the damage to the station. Such a station is also called a control station.
The fire is taken by itself. De Dommel Water Board has reported.
Sewage
This is the De Meeren station, a sewage water junction. The station is pumping the sewage water from the Eindhoven district of Gestelse reclamation to Eindhoven.
A temporary pump installation has now been placed as a replacement. The station must be repaired. It is expected that ‘for months’ will take before the station comes back into effect.
