Conversion of office building into residential building De Bourgondiaanse gets green light | NOW

The office building of care assistant AAG on the Wielsem in the Bossche district of Hambaken is undergoing a metamorphosis into De Bourgondiaanse. This residential building will house 73 rental homes. The city council of Den Bosch recently gave the green light for this plan.

AAG is looking for a smaller office building in Den Bosch and sold the building on the Wielsem to SMT Bouw & Vastgoed. “We expect to be able to apply for the permit at the end of this year and then we will start the renovation in the middle of next year,” says Bart van Gerven, developer at SMT.

Sometime in mid-2024, the renovation of the office colossus (5,000 square meters) from 1982 should be completed. “At the beginning of 2024, the homes will then be rented out. That will be done via Borgdonck.” Van Gerven expects that the rents will be between 750 and 1500 euros. “So middle-priced and expensive rent. The municipality also wanted that because there are already a lot of social rental homes in the Hambaken. So this is good for a better mix.”

The plan for De Bourgondiaanse was designed by Penners Architectuur from Den Bosch. The plans were explained to local residents and interested parties on Wednesday evening in the pavilion of tennis club De Hambaken.
