Controversial climate summit starts in Egypt, 120 world leaders discuss global warming

The 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP27, has officially started in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The summit, which has been criticized before the start, is expected to be attended by about 45,000 participants, including 120 heads of state or government, over the next two weeks. Compensation for climate-related damage is officially on the agenda for the first time.
