Contractor accidentally destroys part of Kortrijk city outskirts

The trees were only planted at the beginning of this year, near the Marionettes. More than 1,300 new trees of various species were planted at that time. But things have now gone wrong with the construction of a bicycle path nearby. (read more below the photo)

The contractor has dumped excess earth on the site, 375 trees have disappeared. The contractor has promised to repair the damage and to plant new trees, says alderman Bert Herrewyn.
