RB Leipzig has won the race for Spanish international Dani Olmo. The sought-after midfielder has come to an agreement with his current employer and is extending his contract early at Cottaweg.

Dani Olmo sets an example before the cup final in Berlin against Eintracht Frankfurt and has reached an agreement with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig on a contract extension. The club confirmed this on Thursday evening (01.06.). According to RB, El Mago’s new contract runs until 2027.

Rumors of a free transfer to ex-club Barca

Olmo’s current contract in Leipzig only ran until 2024, and sports director Max Eberl had been working on an early extension for months. For the manager, it is the first major negotiation success since he took office in early December. Olmo is said to have secured a release clause of 60 million euros. Most recently, rumors surfaced that the 25-year-old would move to his ex-club FC Barcelona on a free transfer next summer. They are now off the table with the new contract.
