She sees the collaboration with cosis as a reinforcement. If children have to be stimulated, they will soon be able to go elsewhere in the same building. And they don’t have to be transported elsewhere. In that case, the short lines only offer benefits.

Alderman Dewy Keen is happy that you can continue. “The schools already contributed these plans to my predecessor.” And it was not simple, given the combination of care and education. The municipality does invest in a new home for the school, but not in care stones. “The solution was found by having the municipality take on the construction.”

Cose is not a co-owner, but a tenant. “Then the picture was quickly round and now I hope we can get started soon.”

District chairman Wytse Bouma is positive about the plans. “For years there has been an empty place in the old Kristalla location. And it is finally filled in. We are happy with that.” According to him, a big plus is the parking spaces on the site on the school. “This prevents the cars from being parked in the street and that they become too full.”

Local residents Arno Reijns, Hetty Kloppenburg and M. Exel see it differently. They fear extra traffic through, among other things, extra vans with students through the street. In addition to extra pressure, road safety is also at stake. “It is better to construct a cycle path next to the road,” says Exel. “Now that the street is being broken open due to new sewerage, there was a great opportunity,” Reijns adds.

Another local, Mr. Zeeman, speaks of a great project again. “It has been empty there for so long. I think this is a nice addition to our neighborhood.”

And what will happen to the old school on Sparrenlaan? There is not yet a permanent plan, but living could be an option.
