The police had to intervene on Saturday evening in a conflict between football supporters in Wijk and Aalburg. The police led the supporters to a parking lot. People were slightly injured during the conflict.
The supporters were from amateur clubs from Zwijndrecht and Werkendam, a police spokesperson said.
Neutral terrain
The matches were on a football field in Wijk and Aalburg because they had to be played on neutral grounds. The police arrived on the scene with several vehicles.
According to the spokesperson, it is not clear how many supporters were involved and why there was a conflict.
Supporters were slightly injured, but nothing is known about the injuries. The spokesperson knows that the injuries are not serious.

The police checked the supporters and the buses. It is not clear whether anything was found.
Around a quarter past seven the situation was calm again and the buses were allowed to continue driving.
No one has been arrested.
