The far too long wait is over.
Anthony Joshua returns to the ring. PDO
Signed and sealed. With these words Matchroom’s boxing promoter Eddie Hearn announced “the biggest boxing match in British history” on Monday.
After a wait that seemed way too long Tyson Fury and protected by Hearn Anthony Joshua we finally get to face each other in the ring.
According to Hearn, the former heavyweight world champions will face each other at the end of the year. The Guardian reported on the matter on Monday and said that he had seen the match in November. The live broadcast of the match is produced by Netflix.
Before that, Joshua is scheduled to face Kristian Prenga on July 25th.
Both Fury’s and Joshua’s peak years are behind them. Fury lost his championship belt For Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. Over the years, he has retired from boxing many times, but always also returned to the ring.
Joshua was last seen in the ring last December when he was knocked out Jake Paul’s. The previous title match victory is from 2020.
Shortly after the Paul match, Joshua was involved in a car accident in Nigeria. Two of his close friends died in the fatal crash. Joshua’s boxing career was also speculated to have ended in a tragic accident, but in recent months he has been actively training.
