A confetti cannon exploded tonight during a performance by StukTV at the Boerenrock Festival in Drouwenermond. In any case, at least one visitor was hit by fleeting shards.
It went wrong around ten to eleven. The cannon is used more often in performances by StukTV. After the countdown, the course of the cannon popped. PVC pieces flew into the audience.
According to bystanders, it is a young woman who was hit by her leg. Fences were placed to keep other festival -goers at bay.
The organization says it is very shocked. “We immediately called in medical help for the victim,” says one of the organizers. The injuries are not too bad. “She had a big knee and was brought to the first aid by taxi. We have and keep in touch with the victim.”
The cannon was set up on the flank of the site at the stage. The crew from StukTV is shocked by the incident, just like spectators who were on that side of the site. A large proportion of the spectators have only seen the confetti swirling, the concert has continued.
