Diaby gets a new coach

Sérgio Conceição is no longer Al-Ittihad coach. As the club from the Saudi Pro League announced, the collaboration with the 51-year-old has been terminated. The Portuguese took up the post in October 2025 and scored an average of 1.71 points in 41 games. He therefore delivered a weaker return than his predecessor Laurent Blanc (2.39 PPS in 46 games).
Al-Ittihad became champions and cup winners in 2024/25. Last season, however, there was only fifth place with the third most valuable squad around ex-Leverkusen player Moussa Diaby. “The decision follows a thorough assessment of the team’s recent performance and reflects the club’s goals and ambitions for the next season,” said a club statement about the reasons for parting ways with the former Milan and Porto coach.
