The new Deutsche Welle (NDW) was created as a music movement without agenda in the early 1980s and originally emerged from the punk and new wave environment. It combined electronic sounds, catchy melodies and often humorous or absurd German texts. When the 80s were coming to an end, the NDW formula “I want fun” also survived.
With the rediscovery of “Major Tom” as a goal -playing anthem for the German national team (this time brought up by fans and not ordered by the DFB), the time when Germany learned to dance also celebrated a little comeback. But do you know about the NDW? Our mini quiz shows you.
