Compensation in stoppage time: Rostock gets a point in Fürth

Status: 10/14/2022 8:42 p.m

It didn’t look good for Hansa Rostock against SpVgg Greuther Fürth for a long time: three injured players, one yellow-red card and one deficit. In the end, Rostock still celebrated in the 2nd Bundesliga.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth missed a home win by seconds in the 2nd Bundesliga on Friday evening (10/14/2022) in a 2-2 (1-0) win against Hansa Rostock. After goals from Branimir Hrgota (20th minute) and Ragnar Ache (60th), the game association led until the third minute of added time before Ryan Malone scored the equalizer for Rostock with a penalty. Lukas Fröde had previously scored for Hansa (57th).

Fürth climbs up to fifteenth place in the table with ten points, but they will still not be satisfied there. Finally, attacker Afimico Pululu had a great chance to make it 3-1 in the 88th minute – it would have been the preliminary decision. It turned out differently.

Three have to go – bad luck with injuries at Hansa

The guests from Rostock, on the other hand, who now have 14 points as eleventh in the table, will be able to live well with the result. After all, it hadn’t been her evening for a long time. There was the yellow-red card against John Verhoek (62nd), a temporary deficit, and there was also the memory of a first half in which three Hansa defenders were injured. They all had to be replaced.

In the 30th minute, full-backs Anderson Lucoqui and Nico Neidhart hit their heads so badly that both players went down and later had to be carried off the field on a stretcher. Damian Roßbach was injured immediately before the break and he couldn’t continue either.

Rostock opens against Kaiserslautern

At the beginning of the 13th match day, Hansa Rostock welcomes the promoted team from Kaiserslautern (Friday, October 21, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.). Verhoek will definitely be missing then. Whether Lucoqui, Neidhart and Roßbach can be there again is questionable. Two days later, Greuther Fürth is a guest in Heidenheim (1.30 p.m.).
