Commerzbank shares unimpressed after trading: capital requirement for 2024 slightly increased

The European Central Bank (ECB) has slightly increased the bank-specific capital requirements for the Commerzbank Group for 2024.

The additional capital requirement for Pillar 2 (P2R) increases slightly by 25 basis points to 2.25 percent of total capital, as Commerzbank announced. At least 1.27 percent of this must now be covered by common equity core capital; previously it was 1.125 percent.

With a CET1 ratio of 14.6 percent as of September 2023, Commerzbank is well above this mark. The requirements are taken into account in Commerzbank’s strategic planning as well as in the target equity ratio of 13.5 percent.

Via Tradegate, Commerzbank shares temporarily rose a moderate 0.14 percent to 11.02 euros after trading.
