This year, the MobilePay app will have three new features and one less comfortable change.
MobilePay has 2.8 million users in Finland. MobilePay
The mobile payment application MobilePay will launch a function in June to allow users to transfer money to each other from one domestic bank account to another in real time.
When transferring from a MobilePay account, the consumer is identified by domestic bank tags if necessary
– To reach the older, safety -seeking user group, we are now bringing account payment as part of MobilePay, MobilePay Country Manager Perttu Kröger says in the bulletin.
“We have fought for years”
During the summer, the MobilePay app will also include a near-payment feature, which is already in use in the Norwegian Sister Application, Vipps, Norwegian.
The feature was launched in the Vipps application late last year. It was the world’s first choice with Apple Pay’s payment on Apple’s devices. Apple opened a chip used for near -payment for competitors at the command of the European Union.
– We have fought for years to compete equally with Apple. It seems almost unrealistic that we can finally launch our own solution, Vipps MobilePay CEO Rune Garborg Glow in December.
Vipps – and soon MobilePay’s nearby payment feature can be used in the same way as Apple Pay and Google Pay, so just by taking the device next to the payment terminal. You do not need to open any application for payment if MobilePayn sets the local payment as the default option.
– The shops are very interested in an easy-to-use and fast local payment that will work through the MobilePay application, both account and card-based. Domestic loyalty programs will also be found in the application and will operate in connection with the local payment, Kröger says.
“So you can finally forget your wallet for a good reason,” he continues.
Towards the end of the year, the possibility of receiving and paying invoices is also launched directly through MobilePay.
Reply to Nordea and OP’s plans
The MobilePay, used by 2,8 million Finns, also reacted to the new newcomer, as the joint venture between Nordea and OP is expanding their operations and, consequently, launching their own mobile payment solution.
Its purpose is to facilitate, in addition to payment between consumers, including sending and receiving e-invoices, paying stores, and online payment through a telephone number.
– We do not develop a separate payment application, but through joint venture services, different operators can provide consumers with telephone payment solutions in their own applications, Nordea’s Personal Customer Business Director Jani Eloranta as well as OP’s everyday economic services manager Masa deer told Iltalehti earlier in February.
For money transfers service fee
As of March 24, MobilePay will charge a service fee for money transfers between people. The fee applies only to more than $ 400 money transfers and is one percent of the amount to be transferred.
– Adding a reasonable service fee to big money transfers, MobilePay can offer most of the transfers free of charge. Only about two percent of the transfers of MobilePay between people exceed $ 400, MobilePay stated in its announcement in January.
