Whether he is the largest collector in Asterix and Obelix is in the Netherlands, Orm Heerkens from Norg does not know. But in his house he has one and a half room and an attic full of things from the cartoon characters. In total he has more than 2800 collected attributes. From comic books, games and stamps to statuettes, key ranges and chess figures.
Heerkens thinks the humor and the stories of the cartoon characters is very good, but that is not the only thing. “I think the drawing style of the albums is very beautiful and because they have made images of it, then the figures actually come to life,” says Heerkens.
It once started with a small statue of the cartoon characters at a flea market in France. The following year he bought another statue on vacation. That’s how the ball started rolling. In the meantime Heerkens are looking for both the internet and flea markets for new attributes to add to his collection.
In two rooms in his house are showcases with the dolls, flippos, stamps, glasses and much more. Heerkens can therefore regularly be found in the rooms. “It’s just a pleasure to see. It remains fun, it continues to enjoy,” Heerkens smiles proudly when he looks at his collection. In the coming period, he will continue to search the city and country for figures from the world of Asterix and Obelix to add his collection …
