German combiners want to avert a historic debacle

So far, the German combined athletes have not been able to win a medal at the Olympics. There is still a chance to avoid a historic debacle.
“We are all highly motivated. We won’t let ourselves be defeated so quickly and will definitely attack again”: Vinzenz Geiger was optimistic. After the disappointing individual competitions without a medal, the German Nordic combined athletes still want to win precious metal in the team sprint – and thus avoid a historic defeat. If they remain without a medal, it would be the first time since 1998 that Germany came away empty-handed in the combination. Can Geiger and Johannes Rydzek avoid this?
The Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo run until February 22nd.
