After long negotiations with 1st FC Köln, FC Bayern presented Jonas Urbig as the first winter newcomer. According to “Sky”, the record champion pays a base loss of 7 million euros, which can increase with bonuses to up to 10 million euros. The 21 -year -old goalkeeper signs a contract on Säbener Straße by 2029 and sorts itself into the most expensive departures of the Cologne.
Urbig was trained in the youth of Cologne and was loaned to Jahn Regensburg and Greuther Fürth in the past two seasons. At the start of the season he received preference to Marvin Schwäbe (29), who, however, repressed him again from the eleventh matchday. He has been without a game practice since the end of October and only played two games for the U21 national team in November.

Urbig added: “FC Bayern is one of the largest clubs in the world. I am proud to be here now and look forward to getting to know my new team as quickly as possible. My goal is to work professionally on me every day and to develop me in our goalkeeper group to constantly develop Manuel Neuer. ”
With the move to Munich, Urbig jumps into the top 15 of the most expensive goalkeepers in the Bundesliga history. If all bonuses grab, he shares fourth place with Maarten Vandordt. The record champions only invested more money for a keeper once: when Manuel Neuer (38) came from FC Schalke for 30 million euros.
Peretz, Nübel or Urbig: Who will be a new successor?
With the Urbig transfer, FC Bayern will take precautions for the successor of Neuer, whose contract expires in the summer, but could be extended shortly. Number two Daniel Peretz (24) fails with kidney problems indefinitely. Finally, there is said to have been rental offers for the national goalkeeper of Israel, but he rejected. The contract of years of new representative Sven Ulreich (36) also ends at the end of the season. Another candidate for the legacy of Neuer is Alexander Nübel (28), who is borrowed to VfB Stuttgart until summer 2026.
