Alderman Klaas Smidt indicated on Thursday evening during the debate about the demolition of the buildings of Lord Nelson that heritage associations will be involved in plans for new construction in the historic city center of Meppel in the future. The municipality also wants to appoint two officials, one for control and enforcement and one for expertise and advice in the field of cultural heritage.
