MusicBad luck for the British band Coldplay. The popular group has had to postpone eight of their upcoming concerts. Chris Martin (45), the front singer of the music group, has contracted a serious lung infection. As a result, Martin is no longer able to perform for the time being.

Especially Brazilian fans of Coldplay appear to be the victims. On October 11 and 12, the band was normally on stage in Rio de Janeiro. Afterwards, six more shows were scheduled in Sao Paulo. These shows normally ran between October 15 and 22, but the concerts in question have now been postponed to 2023.

Three weeks of rest

The British band announced the bad news themselves on their social media. “It is with a heavy heart, but we have no choice but to postpone our upcoming shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo to early 2023,” it sounds on Instagram. “Chris has contracted a serious lung infection and he now has to rest for three weeks.”

Coldplay also apologized to their Brazilian fans. “We are sorry to disappoint you. We are very grateful to you for your understanding. During this difficult period, Chris’ health is our priority.” The band will now announce at a later date when the postponed concerts will take place. Coldplay’s next concert is scheduled for October 25. Then the group is in Buenos Aires in Argentina. The end of their tour is planned for July 19, 2023. Then the band will be on stage in the Netherlands.
