Coldplay are number 1 in the global concert rankings for the second time in a row. The “Music of the Spheres Tour” grosses $464.9 million.
According to Billboard-Boxscore, Coldplay grossed $464.9 million worldwide with the “Music of the Spheres World Tour” in the 2025 tracking period, once again taking first place in the annual top tours evaluation. The period includes all shows between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025.
With this success, the British band joins an exclusive group: only Ed Sheeran (2018-19) and the Rolling Stones (1998-99) previously managed to top the charts two years in a row. It is Coldplay’s fourth consecutive year in the top 5 since the tour began in 2022.
Historical dimensions of the tour
The Music of the Spheres World Tour has grossed over $1.5 billion and sold 13.1 million tickets since its launch – more than any other concert series in history. With additional dates announced through 2027 and beyond, the tour could bring Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” total revenue record within reach.
Wembley record and worldwide presence
A particular highlight were ten concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium, which grossed a total of 131.4 million US dollars and sold 791,000 tickets. This marks the most successful series ever reported by a touring artist or band at a single venue – not counting permanent residencies.
The 59 shows of the tracking period took Chris Martin’s group to four continents: Australia and New Zealand, Asia (United Arab Emirates, India, Hong Kong, South Korea), North America and England. A total of 3.5 million tickets were sold.
More successes in the charts
Coldplay not only top the overall charts, but also the “Top Rock Tours” (for the third time in a row), “Top Ticket Sales” and “Top Boxscores” categories. Imagine Dragons follow as the only other rock act in the top 10 with $241.6 million.
Record values on the top 5 tours
For the first time, five tours generated more than $300 million in revenue – a new record compared to three such tours in 2023 and 2024. Beyoncé follows in second place with $407.6 million: The “Cowboy Carter Tour” is the most successful country tour in Boxscore history with just 32 gigs.
Kendrick Lamar and SZA take third place with $358.7 million. Her Grand National Tour is the most successful co-headlining tour of all time, surpassing Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 2018 On the Run II Tour.
The Weeknd reaches number 4 with 336.7 million US dollars. His “After Hours Til Dawn Tour” has already exceeded the 700 million mark since 2022. Shakira rounds out the top five with $327.4 million.
