One of the local residents, Herman Scholte, lives 25 meters away from the tennis court. He actively opposes the arrival of the padel courts. When the letter about the environmental permit fell on the mat, he therefore informed whether local residents could object to the decision. “If that is possible, then we will certainly do that,” says Scholte Hoopvol. Even if that objection does not matter, there is a second option according to Scholte. “If the building does come, we can also object to the use of the building.”

In the letter to those involved, the municipality emphasizes that they take the concerns of the neighborhood seriously and want to talk to both local residents and the tennis club. “Together we want to look at what measures are possible to limit noise pollution as much as possible,” the municipality said.

The tennis club is planning to set up a special working group for the padel courts. With the working group they want to work out different scenarios for the new padel courts. “We determine the scenarios ourselves, but we will involve the municipality and the local residents in discussing those scenarios,” Jager explains. “I hope that we can get out with everyone involved, with a solution that can be worked for everyone.” says Jager. “The difference is now that we have the law on our side.”
