Be careful, it may be slippery this morning. The KNMI has issued code yellow for Drenthe and the other provinces in the east of the Netherlands.
Because the temperature has dropped below zero, wet road sections can freeze. Because it rained yesterday, the road may still be wet in places, which of course creates dangerous situations after freezing. The warning applies until 9am this morning.
Bridges and viaducts in particular pose a risk, because they are more sensitive to rapid cooling than a normal stretch of road. Slippery conditions can cause problems, especially during the morning rush hour. Road users are therefore advised to drive calmly and keep extra distance. As soon as the temperature rises further, the slippery spots disappear again. This is expected to happen during the morning.
