Vincent Kompany can look forward to a strong first half of the season at FC Bayern. This now also has positive consequences for his showcase.

Vincent Kompany has been voted Coach of the Year 2025 in his native Belgium. The FC Bayern coach was awarded the Raymond Goethals Trophy – but was not present at the award ceremony in Grimbergen.

Instead, his father Pierre accepted the award. Kompany himself thanked him via video. According to the Belga news agency, the 39-year-old said it was an “incredible honor.”

The trophy, named after the former national coach, honors special achievements in Belgian and international football. “Raymond remains a role model for all Belgian coaches and also for coaches far outside our borders,” said Kompany.

In the vote, the former international beat two competitors: Nicky Hayen, who was fired from Club Brugge just a few days ago, and Sébastien Pocognoli from AS Monaco, who came in joint second place.
