Istanbul (dpa) – Coach Stefan Kuntz has made an optimal start to the Nations League with the Turkish national football team. The team of the 59-year-old ex-professional prevailed against the Faroe Islands 4-0 (1-0).
Cengiz Ünder (37th minute), Halil Dervisoglu (47th), Serdar Dursun (82nd) and Merih Demiral (85th) scored the goals for the hosts in Istanbul’s Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium. In League C, the Turks, who failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar later this year, still face Luxembourg and Lithuania in Group One.
