The ground staff of KLM will stop next Wednesday, CNV reports. The strike will take eight hours, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. “We want KLM to come up with something concrete for the ground staff. We don’t buy anything for vague commitments,” says the trade union. KLM wants to talk to the trade unions to prevent the strike, a spokesperson told ANP.

Last week the judge in Haarlem forbade a 24 -hour strike of the ground staff. The trade unions already said that this did not mean that it was now done with their actions.

“We are confident that the strike can continue this time,” says CNV negotiator Souleiman Amallah. “Based on the passenger figures that we have claimed at Schiphol and KLM and the agreements we made in the safety consultation, we are convinced that this strike can take place in a safe way,” he continues.

KLM wants to talk to the trade unions to prevent a strike from soil staff, before any summary proceedings are filed, says a spokeswoman for the airline.
