Clubless Orange Lioness Stefanie van der Gragt is going to play football in Italy

Stefanie van der Gragt has found a new club. The 29-year-old defender, who played with the Orange Lionesses at the European Football Championship this summer, is going to work at Internazionale. De Heerhugowaardse was without a club after her contract with Ajax expired.

Van der Gragt signs a contract until the summer of 2024 with the number five in Italy. The central defender’s initial plan was to end her career at Ajax, but the team from Amsterdam decided otherwise. It was decided by mutual agreement not to renew her contract.

The 91-time international recently played with the Orange squad at the European Championship in England. There, the tournament ended in the quarterfinals against France. Soon the qualifiers for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand are waiting.

In 2020, Van der Gragt returned to Ajax after playing at FC Barcelona the two years before. In 2018, Van der Gragt won the national title and the cup with Ajax Women. Before that, she played for AZ, Telstar, FC Twente and Bayern Munich.
