At Borussia Dortmund, a standard expert from Niko Kovač’s coaching team has to leave early. His contract would not have been extended.

Borussia Dortmund has ended its collaboration with standard coach Alex Clapham with immediate effect. The 36-year-old Englishman, who came to BVB under former head coach Nuri Şahin, was originally supposed to stay until the end of the season. According to coach Niko Kovač, the separation was already amicable.

“His contract would have expired in the summer anyway. We have both come to the conclusion that we are now going our separate ways,” said Kovač, commenting briefly on the personnel at the start of training in the new year in Marbella, Spain. According to information from the German Press Agency, Clapham previously announced his departure from the Bundesliga club via an internet platform.

There were no plans to extend the contract with the standard specialist. BVB also plans not to hire a replacement for the outgoing assistant.
