The speculation about the future of Bayern star Thomas Müller is given new food. An Italian club is supposed to strive for the world champion.

Thomas Müller’s time at Bayern is coming to an end. After 25 years in the club, in which he became the face of an era, his contract expires in summer and is known to not be extended.

A career end is not up for the offensive player. In summer, the world champion from 2014 will initially take part in the club World Cup (June 14th to July 13th). This could follow a change abroad.

There is no lack of interested parties. The interest of the Italian first division club AC Florence seems to be particularly concrete. As transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio explains in an interview with the portal “bettfreunde.de”, the club has already contacted Müller’s management.

Di Marzio said that the Fiorentina had asked “whether Müller would like to move to Italy because no Italian club can keep up with his salary at Bayern Munich”.

Clubs from the Premier League, Turkey and the USA are also said to have stretched out their feelers to Müller. According to “Sport Bild”, this also includes Los Angeles FC, the partner club of FC Bayern.

Di Marzio sees a suitable place for the veteran in Florence. “The Fiorentina is an ideal goal for former Bayern Munich players like Franck Ribéry or Mario Gomez,” said the transfer insider. You want to convince Müller of a change – also because he can “play freely and enjoy a city that will love him.”
