Club down against Copenhagen, Cercle draws against Nice

Club – an entire match without strong holders Vanaken and De Ketelaere – got off to the best start against the Danes. Ex-Barcelona player Ferran Jutgla soon hit the bar, allowing Ruud Vormer to open the score in the restart. That same Jutgla doubled the lead a handful of minutes later with a nice shot into the left corner.

In a match that lasted 120 minutes, Copenhagen took over halfway through against a very young Club Brugge. Pep Biel put the score back in balance with a free kick and a light penalty: 2-2. William Boving and Roony Bardghji made it 2-4 in the last half hour. After two wins and a draw, it is the first defeat of Blue Black in the run-up to the new football season. On Wednesday they will receive Utrecht in their own Basecamp, then the supercup against AA Gent awaits.

Earlier in the day, Cercle Brugge drew 1-1 against OGC Nice. Cercle had many opportunities in the first half, but it was Nice that went into the break with a lead. Delort took care of the 1-0. In the second half, green-black came alongside: a pass from Wolf Ackx was worked into his own goal by Nahounou.
