Club Brugge and AA Gent compete for Supercup on 17 July in Jan Breydel

Club gets the home advantage as champion and goes for a seventeenth Supercup in this new “Battle of Flanders”, the second in a row. Last year, Blauw-Zwart won the trophy by winning 3-2 against the then cup winner KRC Genk.

With sixteen Supercups, Club Brugge is the record holder for Anderlecht, which has already won the prize thirteen times. AA Gent is only once on the honors list. In 2015, the Buffalos, then champions, defeated Cupholder Club 1-0 in their own Ghelamco Arena after a late goal by Laurent Depoitre.

A week after the Supercup, the new season of the Jupiler Pro League kicks off.
