In the 6th week match of the UEFA Champions League, Belgian representative Club Brugge hosted Portuguese representative Sporting Lisbon at Jan Breydel Stadium. Lisbon, which took the lead with Catamo’s goal in the 3rd minute of the match, could not prevent Eduardo Quaresma’s own goal in the 24th minute and the first half ended in a 1-1 draw. In the second half, Club Brugge took the lead 2-1 with the goal scored by Casper Nielsen in the 83rd minute and the match ended with a score.

Thus, Brugge increased its points to 10 and strengthened its place in the top 24. Sporting Lisbon, which continued to get bad results one after another after coach Ruben Amorim’s departure to Manchester United, remained at 10 points after this defeat.

In the 7th week of the UEFA Champions League, Club Brugge will host Italian giant Juventus at home. Sporting Lisbon, on the other hand, will be the guest of RB Leipzig, who has not yet scored a point after 6 matches in the Champions League this season.
