Climate group Stars loses, but Shuohan Men wins in Hattem. ‘Try to flip that ball instead of sliding it’

The table tennis players of Climate Group Stars from Middelstum lost the second match of the autumn competition 5-2 to Van Wijnen/ Smash ’70 on Saturday in Hattem. It was not the fault of the young Shuohan Men. She won both her singles matches.

Shuohan Men is active in the Premier League with Climate Group Stars. With the gentlemen, that is. “Against men is in any case very hard, with high quality and much faster than against women,” she explains in the 23rd episode of De Aanpakkers the difference between playing against men and playing against women.

She is satisfied that she won both her singles matches. “It’s going much better than last season. Then we had little training due to corona, while I trained very hard this summer.”

Coach Jan Tammenga, who also took action himself, also appears satisfied. Although they still needed some coaching. Tammenga: “She had some problems with the serve of her opponents. She couldn’t do anything with it. I then indicated: try to flip that ball instead of sliding it.”
