National ice hockey player Moritz Seider suffered his third defeat in a row with the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL. Seider and Co. suffered a 5-0 home defeat against the Colorado Avalanche, the team with the highest points in the league, on Saturday.
Brent Burns (7th) and top scorer Nathan MacKinnon (11th) gave the guests the lead in the first third, which Ross Colton (22nd), again MacKinnon (34th) with his 40th goal of the season and Parker Kelly (48th) extended. Avs goalie Mackenzie Blackwood made 28 saves for his third shutout of the season.
With 70 points, Detroit is second in the East in the Atlantic Division and is still on course for the play-offs. Colorado increased its season tally to 81 points.
