Claudia de Breij is not yet planning to make up for her canceled performance in Eva Jinek’s talk show. “I think she just wants to avoid questions about Matthijs van Nieuwkerk.”
Eva Jinek started the new season of her talk show this week with a very meager guest list. Claudia de Breij was supposed to be her main guest, but canceled at the last minute. Neither she nor her management would say why, leading speculation that the criticism of her New Year’s Eve conference may have had something to do with it.
That is not correct, says Claudia in a response Show news. The comedian states that she was ill. “Two days after the conference was also a bit too optimistic of me. It is just very intensive from September 7 until New Year’s Eve.”
She is now doing better. “But I’m just taking it easy.”
Private boss Evert Santegoeds thinks it is suspicious that Claudia and her management initially did not want to respond to the cancellation. “I don’t really understand why it was made so complicated about this. That’s why the stories come and that doesn’t make the criticism less,” he says in the podcast Strictly Private.
Claudia is not going to catch up with her performance at Jinek for the time being. “I think she went on vacation, so I don’t know if she’s going on vacation sick or if she’s putting it off for a while, but I don’t think she’s going to sit anywhere.”
Keep silent about Matthijs
We will not see Claudia again in a talk show for the time being, expects Evert. “If only to avoid the question about Matthijs van Nieuwkerk, which she can expect after she rushed that subject in the show.”
Matthijs van Nieuwkerk’s misconduct has sparked much controversy, but his TV girlfriend Claudia refused to speak out about it for a long time. She kept referring to her New Year’s Eve conference, but in that too she ultimately said little about the matter.
