Clasie and Jansen can live with a point against Ajax: “Are not bakers”

AZ took a point against fellow provincial Ajax tonight in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Both teams had plenty of chances for a goal, but in the end the glasses stand on the scoreboard. “It could have gone either way.”

“It’s a bit double. We both had good moments. Ajax had a lot of chances, but so did we. If we were just a little better today, we could have gotten more out of it. Given the odds ratio, a 0-0 think I’m okay. They’re not cookie bakers,” said AZ captain Jordy Clasie after the game.

“I would rather have had three points today”

AZ coach Pascal Jansen

AZ coach Pascal Jansen also felt that there might have been more to the team from Amsterdam. “I would rather have had three points today. But if you play 0-0 away at Ajax, I don’t think you can be dissatisfied.”

West Ham United

AZ cannot dwell on the draw against Ajax for long. The button must be turned again soon because the first leg in the semi-final of the Conference League against West Ham United awaits in London on Thursday. “Now that this match has been played, the attention is going to West Ham. We will also enjoy that a lot,” said Jansen.
