Clashes were recorded in Almaty, Atyrau, Taraz, Aktobe

Protesters clashed with police in several cities of Kazakhstan. According to the publication “KazTAG”, it was not possible to resolve the situation even after the authorities announced a reduction in the price of automobile gas.

For example, in Almaty, detentions take place in various districts of the city. Among the detainees was the head of the unregistered Democratic Party of Kazakhstan Zhanbolat Mamai.

Clashes with police also took place in Atyrau, where protesters managed to break through the cordon on the approaches to the central square. There they surrounded Governor Makhambet Dosmukhambetov and did not allow him to leave the square by car.

Riots also took place in Aktobe, where the protesters also demanded that gas prices be reduced following the example of Aktau.

At the same time, the Internet is malfunctioning in Almaty, and the journalists of KazTAG and the Orda newspaper reported that access to them in the country is limited.
