Clap for German tennis at the United Cup

With a 0:5 in the second group game against the USA, the German tennis team said goodbye to the United Cup in Sydney. After the defeats of Alexander Zverev (Hamburg) and Jule Niemeier (Dortmund) the day before, the other three matches were also lost 24 hours later.

Already after the 3:6, 2:6 by Laura Siegemund (Metzingen) against Jessica Pegula, the 0:3 and thus the German defeat against the USA was certain.

It didn’t get any better: Oscar Otte (Cologne) lost 5: 7, 4: 6 against US Open semi-finalist Frances Tiafoe, in mixed, Siegemund and Daniel Altmaier (Kempen) managed 6: 7, 6: 4, 7:10 only one set win against Pegula/Tiafoe.
