MAISON

There Maison Citroën – which is located inside the Coin store in Piazza Cinque Giornate – has been set up in such a way as to convey the profound bond that unites it to sport through images and… colours. In fact, during Milan Design Week the store symbolically wears the color of the most famous “Giro” in Italy: from the shop window to the interiors, the chromatic display transforms the spaces into environments capable of evoking the energy, passion and anticipation that precede the Giro d’Italia. Taking center stage is one of Citroën’s most popular and successful recent products, a pink-liveried Ami. «With Maison Citroën, on the occasion of Milan Design Week, we want to bring the atmosphere and emotion of the Giro d’Italia to the heart of the city, transforming our flagship into a living space, capable of explaining how design, sport and mobility can communicate in an authentic way with the public» declared Giovanni Falcone, managing director of Citroën Italia.
THE CAR OF THE TOUR
—
There is not only the Ami in celebratory livery but also the new C5 AirCross which from 8 to 31 May will accompany the Giro d’Italia and the Giro-E as the official car (with the e-bikes). The latest update of the French crossover makes it a car of significant dimensions, not so much in length (4.65 metres) but in width, going well over one meter ninety (1.936 m). The trunk, with 651 liters of minimum capacity, is one of the most generous in the segment. As per French tradition, everything revolves around comfort. Aerodynamics included, which yes, is functional to efficiency but also to the reduction of noise at speed, to the benefit of the well-being of the occupants. Fundamental in this sense are the Citroën Advanced Comfort suspensions and seats, introduced by the previous generation and confirmed on this one. The car was born on Stellantis’ Stla Medium platform which can accommodate both powertrain hybrids and electrics. The zero-emission C5 AirCross has a declared range of 520 kilometres, which becomes 680 in the Extended Range version, fast charging achieves 20-80% in just 27 minutes. The plug-in hybrid offers a combined thermal and electric autonomy of over 1,100 km, while the Giro d’Italia hybrid, which combines the 136 HP 1.2 turbo petrol engine with a 29 HP electric motor, offers up to 950 km of autonomy.
