Local authorities have been paying attention to the elderly for some time, but it is striking: 40% now also focus on young people, just like Bruges. In the foyer of the Concertgebouw there are stories with coffee. Anyone who wants can listen to podcasts with ten stories about loneliness while an illustrator makes drawings based on the theme.
“As soon as you share your own experience, people also start to share their own experience, and everything starts to flow automatically,” Marlies Hamels testifies. “My own podcast now has more than a thousand streams, a hundred followers and quite a bit of interest from all over Belgium, actually.”
