Jannik Sinner will begin his defense at the title of the Masters 1000 in Cincinnati on Saturday 9 August. Today in Ohio we start with the first round of the upper part of the scoreboard, the one which includes the number one in the world, which awaits the winner of the challenge between the Colombian Daniel Galan and the Czech Vit Kopriva, given that the South Tyrolean will debut directly in the second round. Sinner could also play, because of the time zone, on the night between Saturday and Sunday 10 August, that is, in the evening session of Cincinnati, which usually begins at the Italian 1 hour.

Sinner’s scoreboard

The blue in Cincinnati is obviously the series head number 1 and in the event of a victory in the third round it will have one between Diallo and Goffin, and then probably having one between Tommy Paul and Machac in the round of 16, before the possible, highly anticipated, quarter against Lorenzo Musetti. Sinner in the semifinal would have, according to the scoreboard, Taylor Fritz, series head number 4, before the great clash against Carlos Alcaraz in the final.

The other Italians

In Cincinnati there will be a 96 players’ scoreboard after the upgrade compared to 56 of a year ago, the result of an investment of 260 million which brought the site of Cincinnati from 21 to 31 fields. Among the 32 series heads, plus Sinner and Musetti, there will be three other Italians: Cobolli (15), Darderi (29) and Sonego (31). Cobolli will debut in the second round against Nishioka or a qualified, Sonego against Fearnley or Bergs, Darderi will face one between Comesana or Munar. As for the other non -standard heads, Arnaldi will see it in the first round (this afternoon) against Bonzi, Bellucci against Dzumhur and then meet Alcaraz, and the Lucky Loser Luca Nardi against the Argentine Tiente qualified.
