Church Ichtegem closed due to danger of collapse

A few weeks ago a piece of ceiling came down. An engineer’s examination reveals that the wood of the roof structure is rotten. That is why the church is sealed and what needs to be done is being considered. This is done in consultation with the church factory.

In the church there was a weekly Eucharistic celebration and there were still funerals and marriages. This must now be forced out of necessity.
