Google is releasing a new Chrome version that users should install as soon as possible. The company warns that the update will eliminate a Chrome security hole for which software tools have already been found on the Internet.
High risk of Chrome vulnerability
The risk of the vulnerability affecting the Java Script program component of the browser called V8, grades Google as high one. The new secure Chrome version 99.0.4844.84 for Windows, macOS is coming in stages over the next few days and weeks.
You can check whether the new version is already there or installed in the three-point menu at the top right under “Help/About Google Chrome”. By calling up this menu item, you may also initiate the installation. If this does not happen, you should try again at a later time.
