Christoph Weller becomes CEO for Central and Northern Europe

Lacoste has found a new boss for Germany.

The German subsidiary of the French clothing retailer has appointed Christoph Weller as CEO for Central and Northern Europe. He will take up his role at Lacoste Germany GmbH on September 1st, the company confirmed to FashionUnited.

In his position, Weller is responsible for the markets in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. As part of Lacoste’s EMEA management region, he reports directly to Guillaume de Blic, CEO Europe, Middle East and Africa at Lacoste. According to the industry magazine Textilwirtschaft, the designated CEO should continue to develop the brand as a premium brand and defend its “high brand value”. The double-digit growth rates of the past few years are also to be continued under his leadership. This information was confirmed by FashionUnited upon request.

The new CEO is following in Marcus Meyer’s footsteps. Meyer held the title of General Manager for the Central and Northern Europe regions until June before moving to a new market as CEO for Asia, Australia and Oceania (APAC). Since his move, the role has been officially vacant.

New CEO comes from the shoe industry

Weller comes from the Italian shoe retailer Geox. According to his profile on the LinkedIn careers network, he worked there in various roles for seven years and most recently held the title of Managing Director DACH. He gained his first experience in the industry at another shoe brand, New Balance, before he worked for five years at the sports goods manufacturer Adidas in Herzogenaurach, where he was also dedicated to the shoe industry as Key Account Manager Shoe Chain. This was followed by a two-year stint at Converse before moving to Geox.
