The president of NaplesAurelio De Laurentiisread a beautiful letter during the Christmas dinner organized at the restaurant Pietrarsa of Portici. Here are his words: “I heard a beautiful monologue recited by a beautiful actress whom I thank, but I would like to say to all of you and especially to her that in the 18th and 19th centuries Milan and Rome did not exist, Naples existed. Naples was the true protagonist of the Western world and it’s something that not only through football, which we are trying to do because for 14 years we were the only ones in the Italian league to experience the European vestiges. Then we had an unfortunate year and oh well, amen, that’s another one chapter which I will discuss in two-three years when I have digested it. However, I must say that Naples is a unique, inimitable reality. On 3 October the first railway was inaugurated and it was Naples-Portici this location of great tradition. I don’t want to ruin your evening and the upcoming artists, I don’t want to ruin your surprises. So I wish you a peaceful Christmas with your families and a 2025 that will certainly be full of joy 2500 years of our beloved city. Always go Naples!”.
