The current lawsuit was filed in Mallorca. But as early as 2024, Collien Fernandes filed a lawsuit against “Unknown” in Germany.

The film producer and actor Christian Ulmen is currently facing serious allegations. For years, according to allegations made by his ex-wife Collien Fernandes, he created fake sexual content about her and passed it on to other men. Her accusation has sparked discussions about a new form of digital sexual abuse that is relevant to criminal law. Investigations are already underway against the actor on the island of Mallorca. But what is the state of affairs in Germany? Now it seems as if there is movement in corresponding investigations here too.

Procedure from 2024 will now be relevant again

Christian Ulmen has been under investigation in Mallorca since December 2, 2025. However, not much is known about this – the investigation files are currently being kept under wraps. The situation in Germany is different: a procedural saga has been taking place in this country since 2024 and could now be brought back to life. But to understand: the procedures in Spain and Germany run independently of each other and do not affect each other.

Collien Fernandes filed a report with the Berlin police in November 2024 about deepfakes that were circulating about her. In the course of this, she handed over documents to the State Criminal Police Office, whereupon investigations were initiated. Due to the actress’s residence in Itzehoe near Hamburg, the case against “Unknown” was transferred to Schleswig-Holstein in January 2025 and processed there. The responsible senior public prosecutor Peter Müller-Rakow confirmed this to “Bild”: “The complainant has become aware of the events within our area of responsibility!”

Hiring due to lack of help? Collien Fernandes disagrees

The ARD journalist Iris Sayram posted on X on Monday, March 23, 2026 about this very investigation in the Fernandes case. She wrote: “According to the public prosecutor’s office in Itzehoe, a complaint from the injured party was processed there. Further documents were requested. This was not done. The public prosecutor’s office then temporarily stopped the proceedings because there were no investigative approaches. This does not seem to have been due to a lack of laws.”

According to research by the “Bild” newspaper, the criminal police contacted Collien Fernandes at the time and requested further documents. According to Peter Müller-Rakow, however, this assistance did not materialize. He explained: “For us, the information from the alleged injured party in Berlin was not enough, so we commissioned the criminal police to request further documents. However, there was no response.”

However, it was precisely this explanation that the moderator contradicted when asked by “Bild”. She commented: “That’s not true!” “No one from the police department in Schleswig-Holstein ever contacted me.” She also emphasized that when the case was still in Berlin, she proactively inquired about the status of the investigation. As a result, she was referred to Schleswig-Holstein, but didn’t know who she could turn to. Her lawyer confirmed the same. The proceedings were discontinued in January 2025.

Reinstatement through further documents?

The case had been on file for a little less than a year. The publication of the allegations on Thursday, March 19, 2026 could now bring movement to the proceedings again. Representatives of Collien Fernandes have already contacted us to inspect the files – according to Peter Müller-Rakow to “Bild”, “this is currently being processed”. He also made it clear that the proceedings could be resumed at any time and expanded to include allegations of crimes – both from the plaintiff and from the public prosecutor’s office.

In addition, the Kiel public prosecutor’s office also announced to “Bild” that it is currently examining how a quickly introduced law against deepfakes could affect the investigation.
