Choirs sing tribute to Henny Vrienten: ‘Since a day or 2’

No fewer than 56 songs were on the program in Tilburg. From André Hazes to Fleetwood Mac. But there was no place on the original playlist for a song by the Tilburg folk hero Vrienten. That is why it was decided to kick off with one of the biggest hits of the frontman of Nederpop band Doe Maar. ‘For a day or two’ (32 years) it sounded, sometimes not too pure, from thousands of throats.

Whenever the cantors on stage at the Schouwburgring took a break, the tribute continued playing other popular hit singles with which Doe Maar scored in the 1980s.

There was also a Zangfestijn in Den Bosch in which Henny Vrienten was commemorated in a musical way. They already have some experience with this, because at the end of March there was already a complete Den Bosch Zingt around the Doe Maar group in the Azijnfabriek.
