The AC Milan goalkeeper had complained to the referee Marinelli for not having taken action during the match due to Bentegodi’s insults

Another stain on the Verona crowd, after the chants of racial discrimination against Milan’s number one, Maignan, during last Friday’s match at the Bentegodi. The Sports Judge, in fact, asked the Federal Prosecutor’s Office for “a further detailed report regarding the number of fans responsible for the chants, the status of the procedure for identifying those responsible and the collaboration, in this regard, of the Verona club”. At the end of the match the AC Milan goalkeeper complained to the referee Marinelli, who had not taken action while the match was underway. A serious episode, on which however the sports judge now wants clarity to evaluate possible measures against the Verona club. Among other things, regarding the same match, Verona’s sporting director, Sean Sogliano, was disqualified for one match “for having addressed a disrespectful criticism to the match director” when the match was drawing to a close.
