Provocative comments originating from Chinese accounts on social media, and especially on Facebook, are on the rise. This activity is called trolling.

The goal of such accounts is to find new ways to create discord among citizens in other countries. Facebook representatives informed the Australian authorities about this on Tuesday.

In Europe, Facebook’s parent company Meta has recently removed numerous accounts that spread false claims. All accounts were systematically operated from China.
