Chinese capacity coal -fired power stations at the highest level in nine years

China has extended the capacity of coal -fired power stations in the first half of 2025 to the highest level in nine years, reports the Center for Energy Research and Schone Air (CREA). Despite the rapid growth of renewable energy sources in the country, the construction of coal -fired power stations, according to the think tank, shows ‘no signs of decrease’.
